A NEW place in town

Pop down the steps at number 22 Stephen’s Green and discover Urchin, the newest addition to the Dublin bar scene.

The laidback soundtrack, lively kitchen and adventurous daily-changing menu make Urchin a smart urban space for drinks or dinner in town.

With Urchin’s open kitchen, diners and chefs are encouraged to mingle, creating an interactive dining experience. Chefs talk guests through their selections when they order. The feel is upbeat and spontaneous, giving Urchin all the spirit of this warm Irish city.

CLIFF Executive Chef Martijn Kajuiter and Cliff Townhouse’s Head Chef Sean Smith have collaborated on the menu, presenting the CLIFF take on the small plate concept.


Our menu changes daily but some of our sample dishes cooked to order include Irish sea urchin, sourced from the Beara Peninsula, poached and served as an edible cocktail, comprising aerated whiskey, tomato and smoked paprika, or Irish Wagyu, from master butcher Pat Whelan, with a beef tea fondue. Another favourite: fresh Irish skate with an oriental slaw served and a ponzu jam on banana leaf.


Dishes immediately available to choose from the open kitchen hatch include smaller dishes such as fresh-made choux buns dipped in caramel, minute marinated scallops, Irish pork with yoghurt and mint, and beech mushrooms in a lettuce cup.

Drinks at Urchin are a collaboration between CLIFF’s kitchen and bar. The combination of culinary and mixology fuses food and drink, flavours and essences, creating an innovative drinks menu, with equal focus on alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

We work with a young and dynamic brewery located in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains; Wicklow Wolf. At Urchin we are proud to offer their elegant, gourmet beers.


Our wine list is inspired by global diversity. The menu is designed by our chefs, offering quality wines from various regions around the world. We also offer a wide selection of sparkling wines, Champagnes and ports.
